Post Office's get named after people all the time, they're just usually dead first.
Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX) is trying to name a post office after Cyndi Taylor Krier, who just happens to be a lobbyist for financial services giant USAA.
On the same day the legislation to name the post office began moving through the House, Rep. Smith's campaign committee received a $5,000 campaign contribution from the USAA political action committee--the most a PAC can donate to a candidate in one year.
The USAA is the third largest contributor to Smith's campaign over the years doling out $51,000, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

It just goes to show you that corruption goes all the way from the top to the bottom. That is why it is going to be impossible or nearly so to root out corrupt officials. They(corrupt officials)cover each others backs, from the top to the bottom of the barrel, and they are pretty much all rotten,or rancid as in the case of pork barrel deals. Great article, I'd love to publish it to my site- www.votestrike.com if that's ok. Post new comment |
