Katrina vanden Heuvel has a column today in the Washington Post that discuses the impact that the Citizens United v. FEC Supreme Court ruling is already having on our elections. She calls for passing the Fair Elections Now Act, as well as the DISCLOSE Act.

Well, Rep. Tom Price, chair of the Republican Study Committee, put out a press release slamming the bill. It's filled with the usual sort of jargon that comes from the "deformers" of campaign finance. I was struck, though, by this last sentence: "This type of partisan political maneuvering only further erodes the American people’s confidence in their government.”

Agnes Gund, a philanthropist and major political donor, has an op-ed in today's Politico about Citizens United and the need for Fair Elections.

The New York Times political blog, The Caucus, reports that big donors have wriiten a letter to Speaker Pelosi (D-Calif.) that says enough is enough - it's time to pass Fair Elections style campaign reform.

While most of Washington is still digging out of this weekend's blizzard, Public Campaign Action Fund joined with Common Cause and Change Congress to release new polling today on the impact of the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision and the Fair Elections Now Act.

Former Senator Warren Rudman (R-N.H.) has an op-ed in today's Washington Post decrying the recent Citizens United v. FEC Supreme Court ruling, and calls for the Fair Elections Now Act (S. 752, H.R. 1826) as the answer.
