A must read story in the Houston Chronicle connecting the dots on how the DeLay machine worked: utilizing former staff, hired gun Jack Abramoff, and the now defunct lobbying firm the Alexander Strategy Group. By following contributions made to both ARMPAC and TRMPAC from Questerra, a firm trying to win government contracts , the trail of cash shows how much it cost to have one on one’s with DeLay (via golf games that could cost up to $25,000) and where the cash was given, specifically via different PAC’s (which is what Travis County Prosecutor Ronnie Earle is looking into).
