Rep. John Doolittle (R-CA), he of the campaign-treasury funded babysitting expenses and 15% fundraising commission for his wife, has blocked the sale of land in Lake Tahoe to the U.S. Forest Service. According to the Sacramento Bee this may have little to do with the sale itself, and more to do with the current owners of the land in question not greasing the congressman's palm sufficiently. Meanwhile, Sen. Conrad Burns (R-MT) is gearing up for a high-dollar lobbyist-hosted fundraiser to boost support behind his struggling reelection bid - struggling in large part due to his highly publicized connections to lobbyists, particularly Jack Abramoff. You keep going in circles like that you get dizzy.
