Connecticut Race Drowning in MoneySubmitted by Katie Schlieper on Tue, 09/05/2006 - 10:13am.
The Hartford Courant addresses the hotly contested Connecticut Senate race, in particular the enormous amount of money both Sen. Joe Lieberman and Ned Lamont are putting into the race, and asks whether public financing would be a fairer option.
Fortunately for Connecticut, all the Senate candidates have taken the Voters First Pledge to support public financing of campaigns. As the editorial rightly notes, this kind of campaign spending is ludicrous and current regulations don't do enough to fix it - whoever Connecticut sends to Congress in November, that candidate will have made a promise to fight for real change.
