Fresh attention is focused on Reps. Richard Pombo and John Doolittle, whose re-election chances are inching towards uncertain territory as their opponents emphasize their relationships with Jack Abramoff and question their dedication to the needs of their constituents in light of their dealings with the disgraced lobbyist.
Doolittle's opponent has put a new poll out showing him narrowing the gap between himself and Doolittle (it's a partisan poll, remember your grain of salt). Meanwhile, some are suggesting that for Pombo victory is far from certain, as questions persist about his ties to not only Abramoff, but the oil and gambling industries who have given generously to his campaigns.
