Smile, You've Signed the PledgeSubmitted by Katie Schlieper on Wed, 10/25/2006 - 2:38pm.
Nick, our executive director, has been traveling around New York asking candidates
to publicly sign the Voters First Pledge. And we've got pictures!
At events sponsored by Citizen Action of New York's federal political action committee, Kirsten Gillibrand, candidate in New York's 20th congressional district, and Dan Maffei, candidate in New York's 25th congressional district both reaffirmed their support of the pledge by signing it publicly. See the photos below from the events in Albany and Syracuse.
Gillibrand also spoke to the Albany Times-Union about the realities of fundraising, and taking money from special interests to mount a campaign - highlighting the need for a new system.
