Come Out SwingingSubmitted by Katie Schlieper on Fri, 12/01/2006 - 4:13pm.
New York's Governor-elect Eliot Spitzer has announced a slate of reforms he plans to put in place on January 1 for his administration. The new rules include new contributions limits and lobbying restrictions, among others.
Spitzer has made no secret of his intentions to address ethics and campaign finance reform issues, and though the rules he is introducing do not requrie legislative approval, he is encouraging them to adopt similar policies. Spitzer has also been on the record supporting public financing of campaigns in New York.
