Rep. John Doolittle (R-CA) is expected to announce his retirement from Congress today after months of speculation. The ongoing investigation into the relationship between convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff, Doolittle, and his wife Julie nearly cost Doolittle his re-election bid in 2006 and have hurt his campaigning and fundraising efforts this year. He'll retire at the end of his term.
