Health Reform's 'Gang of 6' Reaps Political Cash

The San Francisco Chronicle details how health care industry lobbyists are funneling hoards of campaign cash to senators in charge of health care reform.

"The bipartisan "gang of six" senators who helped craft the health care reform bill going before a key Senate committee Tuesday represent less than 3 percent of the U.S. population - but they hold a lot of power at a crucial policy-shaping moment in Congress.

"That's why, analysts say, health care industry lobbyists have showered them with more campaign cash on average than other senators this year, in an attempt to influence the outcome."

a puplic health program is a must in this country.
It's only being held up by the insurance and pharmaseutical companies who don't want to giveup the goose that lays the golden egg. The adversaries of a public health (mostly republicans) do not want to upset the status quo which funnels billions of dollars in their pockets. The person who had that sign in a session of congress hit the nail right on the head.

Aside from global recession there is another conflict the brought confusion among U.S citizen it is about the issue of the health care cost. The health care costs that are indicated to be wasteful are behavioral, clinical, and procedural – what that means is that behavioral patterns could be addressed by someone other than a doctor, clinics order unnecessary tests, and health insurance companies might be padding their bills. The biggest cause of people needing an extra cash advance for medical care is overtesting – unnecessary procedures so the physician can cover himself legally, or just gouge patients for cash. Doctors padding bills – no wonder health care costs drive people to needing a easy loans for a simple check up.
