The New Haven Register reports that Connecticut Secretary of State and potential gubernatorial candidate, Susan Bysiewicz, plans to file a “friend of the court” brief today with the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York in support of the Citizens' Election Program.
According to a source close to the Secretary of State, Bysiewicz is expected to argue that it would be unfair to change the rules in the middle of an election year and further, that the existing Citizens' Election Program is vital to fair election campaigns even beyond November’s election.
