On June 8th, Democratic voters in Arkansas will choose their preferred U.S. Senate candidate to face Republican candidate, Rep. John Boozman. Lieutenant Governor Bill Halter (D) has spent much of the primary race challenging incumbent Sen. Blanche Lincoln's (D) Wall Street and Washington, D.C. ties. The truth is, though, that due to the amount of money required to win a Senate race, you're already an insider by the time you get to Washington. We seem to be in agreement that special interests have too much influence in Washington, but we think these candidates should offer a solution: the Fair Elections Now Act. This morning, Public Campaign Action Fund and Common Cause sent letters to all three campaigns urging them to support the legislation. You can download them below:
We'll let you know if we hear anything.
