Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) hosted a fundraiser in Washington last night that likely raised over $125,000 for three of his state’s vulnerable U.S. House members—Bob Gibbs, Bill Johnson, and Jim Renacci.
According to Politico (emphasis added):
PORTMAN BASH MAY HAVE BROUGHT IN $125K FROM K STREETERS: A PI tipster reports that a fundraiser hosted by Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) for three vulnerable Ohio Republicans last night at the Capitol Hill Club was overflowing with "at least one hundred K Streeters." The event, benefiting Reps. Bob Gibbs, Bill Johnson and Jim Renacci, may have far exceeded their fundraising goal of $125,000 for the night. House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) also spoke. Attendees could contribute $6,000 per PAC to Ohio Congressional Victory Fund, the joint fundraising committee for Gibbs, Johnson and Renacci, or $3,000 per individual to the committee.
There’s nothing unusual about a Washington fundraiser, of course, but it’s unclear to us how many of them feature over one hundred lobbyists.
The Ohio Congressional Victory Fund’s fundraising report will be available later this summer.
