I ask Senator Murray, Senator Cantwell and Representative Baird to cease any earmarks that are not part of the package for ALL of Washington's citizens.

a.k.a. Hillary, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Hillary Rodham. She is the Queen of Park....BUT, the Media thus far will not even go there. She has obtained 360 earmarks worth around $2.2 Billion in the years 2002-06. And the details on many of these shows a clear "pay-to-play" pattern. Those who benefit, endorse Hillary or contribute (kick-back) to her run for president. When Obama pushed for legislation that would make even the process of applying for earmarks public knowledge, Hillary fought it tooth & nail. Question: why hasn't this obviously critical background information on the character and performance of a candidate been front and center in the national debate? You CANNOT be an "agent for change" or someone even vaguely capable of taking on the special interests or even someone with good judgement when you also happen to the the Queen of Pork. Does anyone remember Duke Cunningham or Jack Abramoff??? I don't think so. At least not until the voters start ousting politicians and showing that they will no longer stand for the games they play. One year it's the Dems, the next it's the R's. March 1st may be the first hint that spring is soon upon us, with barbecue and bikini season soon to follow, but for Congress 'tis the season to raise big money -- coincidentally right about the time earmark requests come due. Roll Call asks around about connections, real or implied, between late-night fundraisers and daytime spending decisions (sub. req. to read whole article).
