Senator and 2008 Presidential hopeful Barack Obama speaks at this campaign event about his support for public financing of campaigns as outlined by his fellow Senator from Illinois, Richard Durbin (D) in the Fair Elections Now Act. He emphasizes the importance of rallying grassroots support behind winning public financing -- because legislators will need pressure from the public before they will act on it.

Good morning. I'm glad I didn't have to fight in any war. I'm glad I didn't have to pick up a gun. I'm glad I didn't get killed or kill somebody. I hope my kids enjoy the same lack of manhood. Thanks for the help :-), Opal. To level the playing field we need to have federal funding of elections. The amounts of money that has to be raised is obscene and contributes to buying elections. So lets work for fairer campaigns by keeping the amount of money even for all candidates by using federally funded campaign money. Post new comment |
