There more fuel for the Trent Lott speculation fire [0]. Rumors are circulating that when the Senator vacates his post he'll join former Democratic Senator Jon Breaux in forming something of a lobbying empire [1].
Breaux's been working at lobbying powerhouse Patton Boggs but now he's leaving to form his own firm. His pedigree for lobbying on behalf of big money interests is impeccable:
Breaux, a Democrat from Louisiana, has been active in many of Washington's highest-profile legislative fights, representing such major industries as oil and pharmaceuticals. His reputation as a dealmaker who could work with both Democrats and Republicans has made him one of corporate America's most sought-after former lawmakers on K Street.
Let's not forget this is a man who famously quipped [2]that his vote wasn't for sale, "but it is available for rent."
