Rep. John Doolittle (R-CA) is expected to announce his retirement [2]from Congress today after months of speculation. The ongoing investigation into the relationship between convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff, Doolittle, and his wife Julie nearly cost Doolittle his re-election bid in 2006 and have hurt his campaigning and fundraising efforts this year. He'll retire at the end of his term.
